The great thing about fashion is that it always looks forward.
Doing collections, doing fashion is like a non-stop dialogue. My breakfast is very important. Clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them. Go to a place where you’re not going to be stressed, because a honeymoon itself can be a stressful thing. We live in an era of globalization and the era of the woman. Never in the history of the world have women been more in control of their destiny.
It’s sometimes said that I’m rebellious and I do things to push people’s buttons, but I just like the challenge. It’s really easy to get colors right. It’s really hard to get black – and neutrals – right. Black is certainly a color but it’s also an illusion. I think the idea of mixing luxury and mass-market fashion is very modern, very now – no one wears head-to-toe designer anymore. Fashion never stops. There is always the new project, the new opportunity. My dresses are very reasonably priced, for dresses that are cut on the body.
Today, I’m very happy about myself, because I realized my dreams. I learned how to understand what people want. Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury. I am never satisfied with myself and that is what keeps me going – I have no post-satisfaction. Design and style should work toward making you look good and feel good without a lot of effort so you can get on with the things that matter. I’m an accomplice to helping women get what they want.
